Dan Barnard and Rachel Briscoe are fanSHEN’s lead artists.

We tend to lead artistically on projects, although the roles we take will depend on the demands of the specific project. We also look after the day-to-day running of the company.

fanSHEN have an unorthodox family of awesome associate artists with whom we collaborate regularly.

We also receive support from a fantastic board:

Dr. Adam Alston is Senior Lecturer in Modern and Contemporary Theatre at Goldsmiths. He has published extensively on the production and reception of immersive events, and is currently exploring decadence and accelerationism in contemporary theatre.

Nadeem Azhar (Company Secretary) is a solicitor practising at Pothecary Witham Weld solicitors in Pimlico, London. His work involves advising a number of charity and private clients on non-contentious matters such as charity administration.

Alex Ferris is Director of Creative Engagement at West Yorkshire Playhouse. Previously he worked as Director of Old Vic New Voices, the Old Vic Theatre’s participation, artist development and outreach department.

Sarah Heenan is an IT Project Manager for the Chief Digital Office at UBS. She has a background in communications, innovation, learning & development and IT governance and has her own practice in immersive technologies and site responsive theatre.

Christine Twite (Chair) is an arts researcher and project manager. She recently completed PhD on contemporary theatre and Actors Touring Company at Queen Mary University of London and currently manages The Musicians’ Company’s Yeomen Young Artist Programme.
